Lateral compression type II fractures (as described by the Young-Burgess Classification System) are associated with a crescent fracture of the iliac wing located on the side of impact. Burgess et al discuss the effectiveness of a treatment protocol as determined by their pelvic injury classification and hemodynamic status. The injury classification system was based on lateral compression, anteroposterior compression, vertical shear, and combined mechanical injury types. They found that their classification-based treatment protocols reduce the morbidity and mortality related to pelvic ring disruption.
Tile discusses acute pelvic trauma and his classification system for pelvic injuries (ie. Types A, B, and C). He states that any classification system must be seen only as a general guide to treatment, and that the management of each patient requires careful, individualized decision making.

CPT codes 64400-64530 describe injection of anesthetic agent for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes, the codes being distinguished from one another by the named nerve and whether a single or continuous infusion by catheter is utilized. All injections into the nerve including branches described (named) by the code descriptor at a single patient encounter constitute a single unit of service(UOS). For example:
(1) If a physician injects an anesthetic agent into multiple areas around the sciatic nerve at a single patient encounter, only one UOS of CPT code 64445 (injection, anesthetic agent; sciatic nerve, single) may be reported.
(2) If a physician injects the superior medial and lateral branches and inferior medial branches of the left genicular nerve, only one UOS of CPT code 64450 (Injection, anesthetic agent; other peripheral nerve or branch) may be reported regardless of the number of injections needed to block this nerve and its branches.
Sometimes, because of the association of the coccyx and sacroiliac ligaments, the coccyx may become painful without actual trauma to the structure. Here's an anecdote worth repeating; she who must be obeyed recently developed quite acute coccyx pain, along with the lower sacroilac joint ligaments whilst simply sitting in the garden weeding. Sitting became very painful. Luckily both the ligaments and the coccyx responded very quickly to the usual chiropractic help treatments. One can't have a chiropractor's wife going to the medical doctor for such pain in the nether regions.
